Did You Know?

The snow level almost never gets below 9,000 feet in Hawaii during the winter.

Local News: Snow Hits Momilani!

Weather Forecast for December 18...SNOW!

The weather forecast for Monday, December 18 calls for SNOW!  Our Meteorologist friend’s at Hawaii News Now (weather experts) predicts that Momilani Elementary will get a Christmas cold front which will dump a huge amount of wintry white stuff on our campus (18 tons)!  They expect temperatures to be in the cool fun range!

So…get your snow gear out and be prepared for some freezing excitement!  If you will be braving this “frigid” experience, don’t forget to bring your gear!  The following will be necessary to have a most enjoyable “SNOW-MENT!”

Things you need for Snow Day:

  • Covered Shoes (required)
  • Change of clothes (you will get wet – include new set of socks and shoes)
  • Gloves (optional – old socks are fine)
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes and shoes

Reminder to students:  Please do not surprise your parents with your wet stuff 1-2 days later.  It’ll be stinky!

Ho! Ho! Ho!  For the past 17 years, B&C Trucking Company (Mr. Verne Santos) has donated his trucking service and 6 tons of snow to our school.  The Hui O Momilani (Momilani PTSO) has purchased 6 additional tons of snow and adding another 6 tons this year...for a total of 18 tons this snowy season.  Thank you Uncle Verne and our Hui for the many years of fun and another one coming up.
