The Sixth Grade Presents: We Are Monsters

Congratulations to our sixth grade class for putting on a spectacular drama performance! This year, the sixth graders have put on the musical called “We are Monsters.” Written by Beat by Beat Press. “We Are Monsters” is about being together even though we are all different.

“ Our play was phenomenal and just the bond between our classmates to create this musical was momentous.” -Hailee Goo

Momilani Elementary has just installed new lights by the stage set. The six grade class was the first class this year to perform with the lights. Six grade has spent two long, exciting and, difficult months preparing the audience for a stunning and mouth opening production. They’ve spent an hour and thirty minutes everyday in January working their butts off in the cafeteria.

“It was hard work but, we pulled through and came out with a bang.” -Sydney Strack

A special thanks is given to Mrs. Winpenny for working hard everyday with the students to come out with an outstanding performance. Mr. Daniel Nieva helped the Werewolves and the Vampires with their singing. Also, if you’ve noticed, the students were wearing makeup and paint. Maria Apeles (Mr. Nieva’s sister) was the makeup instructor and figured out a spooky design to paint on the many faces. WE HOPE YOU’VE ENJOYED OUR SHOW!

We Are Monsters is a hilarious new musical that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n’ roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique.
